The University of Mosul founded on the first of April 1967 upon the law no. 14 of this year, but the first steps of the university return to 1959 by establishing the College of Medicine which was under the Ministry of Health. The university established to be a distinguished academic center of higher education in Mosul city and Iraq by graduating qualified people capable of meeting the needs of the country’s ambitious development plans and to assume leadership roles by providing them with up-to-date knowledge and advanced skills, at present it offering accredited Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees in more than 100 scientific specializations. More than 80,000 students were graduated since the establishing to entering the professional world and effectively serve their country. Since its establishment, the University has always given a very high priority to the development of its academic program and curricula responding to the needs of the Society and keeping pace with international academic developments and trends while preserving the values, policies and strategies of the Country. |
